Originally built as Rutland 4-6-0 ten wheeler #483 by Alco-Schenectady in August of 1902, it was later renumbered NYC&HR #2055 in 1904. Then in 1914 it was superheated and renumbered Rutland #55 as seen here. The loco was retired in April of 1948 and presumedly scrapped after nearly 46 years of service. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x26" cylinders, engine wt of 165,000 lb and tractive effort of 30,600 lb. No date or location was given for the photo so approximates were used.
