C&NW Covered Hopper |
| Description: |
This covered hopper is still in what I assume is its original paint job. It is Chicago & Northwestern green with the old "Employee Owned" logo. I cannot clearly find its reporting marks. When I magnify it I can see "CN" missing "W" with numerals "1782", probably missing one or two more numbers. There is a builders date 0f "03-80" on it with the Pullman-Standard "PS" stencil. I assume this thing is in revenue service still as it was in a cut of cars on some Union Pacific track. |

Soo Line Flatcar |
| Description: |
I spied this Soo Line flatcar that still appears in service, maybe maintenance only. I dont have the full number on it. I took the picture through my car window. I found it at the old Milwaukee Road diesel shop, now CPKC, in Pigs Eye Yard. In the background you can see diesel engine traction motors hangin in racks. I think some locomotive part is loaded on the left end of the car - its hard to tell. I was surprised to see a car in Soo Line paint in such good condition. I see a date of 3-83 under magnification. |
